Scrapbooksteals.com's On-line Crop Challenges

My favorite scrapbooking store, Scrapbooksteals.com, held an online crop on Friday, February 24, 2012. On Thursday they issued challenges that I just loved participating in.

 Challenge #1 (aka Amethyst #1)
Here is my interpretation:
I used craft paper for the background, Authentique's Gathering, AC Thickers, and whatever buttons I found.

Challenge 2- Keepin’ It Real: Your challenge is to create a layout about something real. No froofing up the details to paint a picture perfect memory. Scrapbook those snotty noes, or the mountains of laundry that never seem to be conquered. Whatever you choose, make sure it’s something that looking back down the road, your posterity will realize that you were a normal, “real” person too!
For this layout I used Bo Bunny's Life is a Party, AC Thickers, Pebbles embellishments.

Challenge 3- Scrap that Stash!: Where does the crafty magic happen? Do you have a studio or a little nook in a closet? Wherever it may be, let’s see those pages featuring the wheres, whats and whens of the paper crafty mania in your world.
For this layout I used MME Lime Twist and AC Thickers and Embellishments.

Challenge 4- Something Old, Something New: We all know the old age adage, “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.” Well this challenge is to create anything ranging from a card to a piece of home decor, using 3 of the 4 somethings.
I used Authentique's Genuine for the paper, AC Thickers, and other embellishments that I found hanging around.

I had a ton of fun doing these challenges and i also love being able to go to the Scrapbooksteals warehouse for these chats and hang and scrap. It was truly a blast!

Authentique's February Sketch Challenge Take two

I decided to try do a second layout with the February sketch, this time with the new Genuine collection.  Love the new line and the textures of the paper. I thought it was the perfect fit for this picture of my son helping my husband sand our house in preparation for painting last summer.  The blues and yellows in this collection are fantastic because they are my two favorite colors. I just love how it all came together.

Authentique's February Sketch Challenge

I loved using Authentique's Uncommon collection that I stole from Scrapbooksteals for this layout.  The picture is a little old, but I love it. You see, my oldest daughter and my mom have a special bond that I loved to watch.  This past November my mom passed away and it has kind of left a hole in a lot of our lives, especially my daughter's. She often asks where grandma is. It often breaks my heart to hear her miss grandma, but I am so grateful for the memories and pictures that I have of them.  This collection was absolutely perfect to capture those memories.
